I have a 1.50 but i can't see the difference between the two firmwares. With this new custom firmware, can i launch ISOs without using Devhook? Is it worth the upgrade?

i dont know frankie i would just stick to my 1.5
but then again 2.71 is downgradeable so just give it a try if you want to so bad lol

hey guys, I have the fw 2.71 and able emulate fw 1.50 to run homebrew games.
now the quetion is how can I run ISO games. is theres a way to run ISO straight
from the 2.71 or do I have to emulate to 1.50

You have to emu 1.5 and launch Devhook 0.46 like you would on a real 1.5

thats not true
I have been avoiding going down to 1.5 for sometime now. i launch the devhook but instead of going to 1.5 just go to 2.71. Youll need the reboot file and the flash0 and 1 folders for 2.71. I just do that cuz im a lazy sob and it avoides two steps.

When running DevHook off 2.71 SE-A and emulating 2.71, place the ESCAPE DEVHOOK FROM 2.XX in the GAME folder not GAME150, so that way theres no need to hardreset your PSP to take you back to 2.71 SE-A

have to say SE doesnt really sound that great, or am i wrong?? think ill just stick with 1.5 and 0.46.

@dibz, its basicly the same mate, although 2.71SE-A can load certain things that 1.50 cant.
The likes of X-Flash and IRShell have problems but apart from that...am still doing the same on 2.71SE-A that i was doing on 1.50.

frankie do u not c my guide? it also tells u how to play isos on the emulated 1.5. its near the bottem.....just read pages 2 and read on...dam man start searching before putting up a thread

But i was reading it can load kxploited 1.5 homebrew but then I also read it can only load 2.71 formatted homebrew. Which one is true?

Both is true.
You can run both kxploited, kernal, user homebrew everything mate.
I can confirm as of now that PSPSET works with 2.71 SE-A, so you can still customise away! ;)
This is the new 1.50, alot of you will disagree but we all have our own opinions.

So whats with installing SE-A and then it also installs 1.5 firmware. Do you emulate it or something I might have to install it just to see how it works and so i can get familiar with it to help other people out :)

i dont know its like a 2.71 with 1.5 abbilaty's right? in my opinion i would stick with the 1.5 but like yall said to each is his own
but i might try it on once of my psp to see how good it is

Theres no need for ya to emulate 1.50.
Currently am running 2.71 SE-A i havent changed the way i use DevHook at all, i still emulate 2.71 firmware to run my back-ups.

@ pspjunior - i'm not spamming, i just want to know if this new 2.71 SE-A is better than 1.50
I know there is a dongrader for normal 2.71 but would it work on 2.71 SE-A
Also, do i need to upgrade to 2.71 and then install it because i read somewhere you need 1.50?
