dvd burning no longer working

evening all,
i am new to burning and just recently started having issues with the process, i have used the Nero clean tools, updated firmware, uninstalled DVD Shrink re installed DVD Shrink and its still not working, i have down about 50 burns before i started to have dramas.
the following is the burn log from my last failed attempt, any help would be much appreciated:

your DMA is off! follow this guide to turn it back on.

edit out your serial # before someone pirates it! Hit the icon in the right hand corner of your reply ... the one that looks like a pencil on paper...... and take out your serial # ... it starts with 1A**-****-****-****-****
your RAM is at the minimum so do not multi task or go on the internet and shut off all unnessissary background programs and turn off the anti virus program when burning. Or just add more RAM to your computer!

this could be caused by the DMA being off and/or your media! use better media! Follow the Made In Japan rule. When buying new media look on the spindle lable and make sure it says MIJ for top notch media (Sony, Maxell, Fuji are a few brands in the stores but make sure it has MIJ on the lable). Verbatim is the only Taiwan manufacturer that makes top notch media and is the only exception to the MIJ rule!
follow these tips and you will have better results! Most importantly is the DMA.... edit out your serial #...... use better media!

it hasn't been giving me one. the problems happening at the start of the back up between 3-5%. then the preview screen goes blank than about 5 mins later a little message screen pops up saying, couldn''t read d:....i/o device error????????

it doesn't even get that far. this is right at the start of the burn process when the original dvd is in.. its just after you hit backup, when the preview screen comes up it get through the selection pages but when it tries the actual main movie it stops and then the i/o device error hits????

the only thing I can think of is that you are trying to use Nero and shrink with newer movies that the encryption stops Shrink from working propperly! You will need something like AnyDVD to break the encryptions on new disks because Shrink has not been updated in over 2 yrs now! but here is better news..... try this program..... everyone is raving about how good it is and I agree.... it's free, too!
