I put my swap magic 3.8 disc in and get disc read error. I get mad, I put back madden in, and it loads. wtf is going on?

okay. the CD disc works but not the DVD disc! they just came in today, any reason why it wouldn't be working? on the back of the DVD disc it looks kind of strange near the center..

would it be the laser though? disc read errors happen when it doesn't read games, but its just that one disc..and I read it. okay?

I cleaned the laser, now it doesn't read discs at all. not even disc read error it just acts as if it isn't there.

had that happen with my slimline cleaned the laser and it pooped out lol...just wait and see if maybe the alcohol needs to dry out some more or refer to this http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/laser.html
and select ps2

I ended up fixing it again..but I still get the same freaking problem. Madden loads perfectly so does the CD but the DVD gives me disc read error! ahhhh!!

maybe your lookin in the wrong place for the error, maybe its not the ps2, send swap magic back and get a new one if that doesnt work then i dunno get a new ps2 :)

none of you dont know,swap magic 3.8 coder is crap,swap magic 3.6 is still better.ask the senior members or afterdawn members.they say it often in forums.

Sounds like your laser is wack.
It happens. For some stupid reason. PS2's get "stuck" and they will only play one type of media. CD or DVD. If you keep going back and forth. You'll get this problem.
You should never play CD's in a PS2.
