nero preview player poor quality

i have Nero installed on my computer as of yesterday and have found that when i compile an audio disc, the sound quality of each track is absoloutely terrible when played back through the little Nero preview player, yet there is nothing wrong with the original file and when i actually burn the disc, the audio is fine. can anyone tell me what is causing this and how to rectify it?
the file evn sounds fine when i go to apply any filters to it and play it off that screen instead of the preview player.

my guess is that Nero has an install error! since everything else works fine when listening to the files out side of Nero! So why don't you uninstall..... use the Nero cleaning tools for your version and then reboot..... then reinstall! good luck.

hi. thanks for your help and sorry for the delay in the reply.i did what you suggested and uninstalled Nero, rebooted and then reinstalled Nero and i am afraid the problem still exists. everything else seems to work fine it is just the Nero audio preview player used when making an audio cd.the playback of any audio file is slow and distorted and bad quality.
any other ideas?

you have InCD installed! Uninstall that for that is a packet writing program that interfers with DVD writing:
Packet writing utilities such as "InCD" are notorious for interfering with burn processes, as the way it works is to continually poll the burner to check for new media.
This prevents the burn application gaining exclusive access to the burner, and sense code errors will happen - every time.
Get rid of all packet writing utilities.
They are more trouble than they are worth.
And your Nero version is not a good stable version so do this:
Before udating to 6.6.0.18 I would save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Clean_Tools.html
then do a registry clean up and defrag...... then reboot!
install package one:
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
then install package two:
http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Patch_for_NVE3.html
reboot and you're good to go! do not update from here and do not install InCD!! This is the same version that I use and it's the most stable version of Nero 6 there is!
you are at your minimum for memory! 512MB of RAM! do not multitask, go on the internet, shut down all un needed background programs, and even shut off your anti virus program when burning DVDs! Add more RAM would be nice!
Your burner's firmware is not up to date! I suggest your update to DL13 (you're at DL10!). Firmware for your burner as that sets new write strategies for new media thats out..
Firmware is programming that is inserted into a programmable memory area of your drive, thus becoming a permanent part of a drive. This 'software' is called firmware and can be updated with a firmware flasher. Every company has its own methods to allow you to do a firmware upgrade. A firmware upgrade can add new functionality to your drive. Also bug fixes and improvements are done by firmware upgrades.

wow! what a detailed response. you really are helpful-thanks. i did what you said about downloading the cleaning tool for Nero and then the newer version of Nero and it has worked a treat!the preview player now works fine and i find that my dvd burning is also better and more reliable with less buffer underruns when i unhook from the internet and turn off my anti-virus,i have never thought of donig this before and now will always do this, so thanks very much for that little gem of information.
the one thing i do not feel happy about doing is updating my rewriter drivers/firmware as i did this before with other drives and i completely messed it all up, so for now, seeing as everything is working okay, i will say a very big thankyou and be on my way.bye and thanks again.
