i downgraded from 2.71 using the easy downgrader and should i update to 2.00 and downgrade back to 1.5 using MPH downgrader(to get a clean fm). How stable is the MPH downgrader??
also is 2.71 SE-A good, what is my chance of bricking trying to flash it??, do isos play without problems??

Yeah, it wouldnt take much for you to upgrade to 2.0 then downgrade again. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Also, i got the 2.71SE goin on my psp and it works a treat. I recommend that with Wedge's VSHEX DLX2 mod for devhook

the 2.0 downgrader is without a doubt one of the safest downgraders. theres almost no risk of bricking.

yay i upgraded to 2.71 SE-A. its great but how does th recovery mode work ,what do u have o hold when it boots up and do u have to put soem firmware eboot files in th recovery folder???

The 2.01 downgrader is probally the 2nd safest downgrader as it works in the same method as the 2.0 one

sorry to double post but how does the recovery mode work and and 2.71 SE-A be downgraded back to 1.5 with dark_alex's generic downgrader

Just get the 1.50 firmware eboot place it into the recovery folder, turn the psp off fully, hold the right shoulder button, turn it on and select recovery mode, this will bring you back to 1.50.

thanks sudds for your help, you told me to put the 1.5 ebbot in the recovery folder, but i i do so itll overwrite another ebbot which is 63kb, these are the files in the recovery folder

There is, you have to extract the topmenu_plugin.rco to your memory card, drag it to your PC and edit it using an app called PSPMENU EDIT by LOCO.
But when ever ave done it i dont understand what comes up on the PSPMENU edit,s GUI, i selected english but nothing happens so i just left alone for now.

That only works for 1.5. I have been trying to change 2.7 with hex editor but hasn't work.
Besides PSPMENU EDIT does what it says ,It changes the menu names, not the fonts. Because the kid is asking you about fonts.

Yes, i know what you mean...still dont understand what comes up though.
So at the moment theres no way to change the XMB font on 2.71SE-A...thats a pain...but am sure a way will come.
