Chayne,
Do the cases you bought at Micro Center smell???
I used to buy cases there a while back but they kept smelling like fish!!!!
Found out that it wasn't just me. They actually smell like that because they're made out of recycled materials.
Now I only buy cases made from virgin materials. Don't think I'll ever go back!! And they're the same price $25.00 shipped for 100 pcs. Supermedia.com or Rima.com

i have not really ever noticed the smell. but i did open up some just this second, and yes they do have a funny smell. but i also still had one pack from Sams and they dont smell the same, but they do still smell. i think i will continue to buy from Microcenter especially knowing that it is made from recycles. i just kind like that.

I purchased 100 of those from supermedia. Yes, they have an odor. It's probably because of the recycled polypropylene that they are made of. They don't smell like fish but they do have an fairly strong odor to them.

If you like the whole recycling concept ! Why not check out the Dumpster diving thread ? Jvc's post ect .! You can get Commercial quality cases ( Same ones the DVD movies & games come in & also the same Heavy lockable Type Blockbuster uses for free.) Well you have to dive for them or ask the mgr. to save them for you .But other than your investment in time & effort they're free !"FREE IS FREE" (JVC) and and if you like smelly cases don't wash them lol! Seriously you might have to occasionally rinse of one or two here& there but I find it worth the time ! And it gets to be fun like a scavenger hunt or looking for Easter eggs ! ( the edible kind) Besides we can always use a new point of view @ the Dumpster diving thread ! Good luck & Happy Hunting !

Well I can't promise you that ! Occasionally you find a slim-line case in there with the Standard size Single Disc & Double disc cases! and the occasional Thick double disc cases ! but it's not the Norm ! I used to buy the verbatim slim dvd cases at samsclub when I was buying them but my wife likes the full sized cases -Esaier to read the spine & as Jvc says "Free Is Free " You might also find Movies /dvd's /Posters & other goodies in there too ! But I understand your prefference you like what you like I respect that ! good Luck & happy Burning !

it is funny, my wife likes the smaller ones, because they take up less space. i only have two 3-shelf bookcases full of movies. if i used the regular sized cases i would have to have four, then that would cut into her bear collection space. got to make the wife happy, to get what you want.LOL
