Cant See the red screen when downgrading from 2.71 - 1.50

Okay so I have taken it upon myself to downgrade my buddys PSP which is a 2.71 firmware, I have postd on here before and check regularly here to to know that there was a 2.71 easy peasy lemon squeazy downgrader.
I found the one on psphacks the dark alex one, with the weird guy speaking through the tuorial!
Anyway, i get past the first part of the process, but the second part where i have to plug in the AC and go to the photo section press X and wait for the red screen to appear but it never does! i keep rebooting trying again but nothing happens?
What am i doing wrong?

nothing its exploit. its unstable and even the devs stated it only ran 1 in every 10 tries and some users stated it took more then 20. if u get tired of trying there is always the generic downgrader.

Twinblade, u are simply wasting ur time and putting ur PSP att steak because if u want firmware 1.5, u can simply emulate it using 2.71 and 2.71 has all the compatibilites as the 1.5 if u use homebrew enabler and the E-loader ( Hex, am i right ? ). There is no need to downgrade unless u like the suspence and the sweat dripping from ur chin wheather or not the PSP is gonna brick or wat ?

Yea thats true but if i had a 2.71 psp that was compatible for downgrading I would take the risk of downgrading. To each his own tho :)
