Introductory
Hello and welcome to this tutorial! This tutorial shows you step-by-step insutrctions with pictures on how to speed up BitTorrent x10 faster! Don't believe me? Try it yourself!

Instructions
Step 1:
We first have to find available ports using Scan Port 1.3. If another program is running on the same port the same time, it will slow down both programs including BitTorrent. Download Scan Port 1.3 securely from Download.com by clicking the following button.

When you have downloaded Scan Port 1.3 and got it running, you will have to operate the program. First, we type in "1024" under "From Port" and "65535" under "To Port" without the quotes. These are the ports BitTorrent ranges between.

Select "Open" under "Results" so it views all open ports only.

Click on "Scan" to scan for available ports.

Randomly choose a port within the list. If port "6881" is available, skip to step 3.

Step 2:
Next, we have to change the port in BitTorrent to our available port. In BitTorrent 4.26, type Ctrl+S. This brings up the BitTorrent Settings dialog. Click on the tab labeled "Network".

Change "starting at port" to your available port.

Step 3:
Then, we have to disable any firewalls that may be blocking our available port. I will go over disabling Windows firewall. Within the Start Menu, click on "Run". The run dialog should appear. Type "control" under "Open" without the quotes.

When you'r done, click "OK".

Double click "Network COnnections". You should now see a list of connections. Right click your connection. In most cases, it's "Local Area Connection". When right clicked, click on "Properties".

Click on the tab labeled "Advanced".

Uncheck "Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to thid computer from the Internet".

Click on "OK".

A confirmation dialog should appear. Make your decision...

Step 4:
Finally, we have to allow the port on your router. Consult your router manufature for more info.

Conclusion
Thanks for taking your time and patients following my tutorial. I hope it works. It worked for me! Questions/Comments? Feel free to post.
