ok i have been at this for a great while(months) browsing the site looking for everything i need.... so here it is.

*i have quite a few burning progs. (Nero, clone cd, etc.)
*i have unlimited resources for cd's and dvd's
*i have a 50001 series ps2
*i am frustrated.
*my ps2 is unmodded.

ok so what i have been trying to do is create a backups of certain games for the PSX and want to play them on my ps2(tired of scratched/skipping cutscenes) i need to know EXACTLY what to do. i have an extra 40gb hdd that my friend gave me (final fantasy XI hdd.) i have a network adapter and also gameshark broadband and ar max.
need to burn PSX games that play on my ps2 or be able to transfer my games from pc to hard drive (I DO HAVE 2 HDD both 40 gb)and if i can get the games to the hard drive are they playable and since i own the game it is legal right.

You won't be able to play PsOne games with your current setup. You will need a modchip that plays BOTH PS2 & PsOne games, or a PsOne boot disc, like BreakerPro or a PsOne Gameshark along with some way to swap discs without the PS2 knowing, like Magic Keys.
The PsOne games MUST be burnt to CD-R, they won't play from HDD or DVD.

okay now i know thsi is going to sound crazy but i need to know if i can make my own boot disk and if i remember right it is the mem. card exploit. how is this done then.

sorry i miss read your post i do have a gameshark for ps1 i actually have several. i also made my own lide tool. so if i go the game shark route how is this done

Instead of pressing eject like you would with an original game when GS prompts you, you would use the slide tool to open the tray, swap in the backup & close the tray with slide tool again. Then press X.
