I have read the threads about portforwarding followed all the directions for my 2wire homeportal hg1000 i followed all the directions to port foward but the port isnt open i even tried putting the computer on dmz plus mode or soemthing where all ports are open. but my ports still dont open up im running xp home edition sp1 so i dont have a windows firewall. i ran some internet tests and they said that my ports were stealthed or closed by a firewall or other program. the problem is i dont know if i ahve any other firewalls i have the 2wire firewall which i disabled, i have some sbc yahoo online protection but since i dont have it running i think the firewall should nt be up, i have spyware doctor but i not sure if that has a firewall or how to disable it, and i have adaware se personal which im almost positive doesnt have a firewall . So im wondering if there is s way to find out what firewalls you have running because i have no idea what is going on
im not to sure about home edition but i think sp1 would still have some sort of firewall, try this
"Click Start, Control Panel, double–click Network Connections, right-click the desired connection, Properties, Advanced tab, Under Internet Connection firewall, uncheck or check the Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet check box."
