Like the subject says, I'm after a PS2. Based on my reading of various webpages and some browsing of the forums here, I get:
V12 = 70002 CB
V13 = 70002, without the CB - lacks a phone line socket, few changes within, may or may not be in australia
V14 = 75002
V15 = 77002 (Seen maybe one shop with this model number, and that was on a display box)
Aussie model numbers above.
Now, *apparently* the V12 had laser probs, but that's been fixed with later models. The V14 has some probs with game compatibility, but that's nothing major - http://www.playstation.com.au/ps2/hardware/thenewps2.jhtml (in the new model area)
So, which one should I be aiming for? In the end, all I want is a new ps2 that I can possibly use swapmagic on, and one that won't break on me that quickly.
WTF v15 isnt even out yet.
Also if a V15 is out wich i doubt buy that one if not buy the V14 in other words the scph-75002 because it has the best laser and has a built in laser fix
With PS3 right around the corner why not buy a used FATPS2 with a network adaptor and a Hard drive (Same Price you'd pay for a new SLIM PS2 Alone) buy a copy of HDLOADER and you'll be set
HDLoader and HDAvanced are the same but HDLOADER is hacked and improved all the time and can be downloaded off the net (Hacked ELF Files) (Only if you have a modded PS2, Swapmagic Modchip etc)
