No power on PS2

I have a v6 PS2. The other day I was inserting a disc and apparently I did not have it seated in the tray very well because when the tray closed, the disc got caught and was sticking halfway out. I pushed the eject button again, but it wouldn't open. The fan was getting really loud, so I powered the machine off and waited a few seconds. When I powered it on again, I got absolutely no response. No lights, no fan, nothing.

I opened it and checked the power supply board fuse and it looked ok. I didn't see anything else blown on the board. The unit does get slightly warm on the bottom after it has been on for a while, so I'm guessing it's getting current, but it's totally dead otherwise. Should I go ahead and try replacing the power supply board anyway or is it possible that the motherboard itself is fried?
