Backing up NBA 2k7

Im new at backingup my ps2 games, so, of course, im having problems. I am trying to backup nba 2k7 but i dont understand what is a dummy file and what isnt. there are files called just "0" and "1" up to 3. Are these dummy files? or do i have to merge them or what? Can somebody post a guide for THIS game please. Thanx whoever helps.
