just got my first 50 pack of Verbatim hub-printable +R's, I have been using Ritek's up to this point and although I have heard the Verbatim is a better quality disc, the Ritek surface produces a smoother finish and better image quality using my R200, I would try the Ritek -R hub printable's but my old NEC-1300 will only burn +R (no matter what Firmware I throw at it...)how is the Ty surface compared to the Verbatim or Ritek?...Thank's

The Ty surface is similar to the Verb. I have used others that had a smoother surface like the Ritek but the media was Prodisc and had maybe around 75% sucessful burns. The quality was not good enough for me to want that particular smoother disc. The smoothest disc I have found are the Glossy Watershield Ty's, however, cost is much higher on those. Some have reported burns not typical of regular Ty media with those. Mine have had scores in the lower 90's with the Watershield DVD media but I have not had one bad burn yet though.

Yeah prodisc pritable's (or even plain prodiscs for that matter) are garbage. If you do get a good burn, more than likely it will have playback issues in 6 months to a year. Similiar to cmc magnetics. Stay with verbatim, TY, or ritek. I personally prefer verbatim due to no playback issues at the time of burn or down the road.
