Hi guys, I have been researching in the net for these couple days on how to connect ps2 to pc monitor. There are 3 options available:
1)VGA box
2)S-video Cable
3)Tv card
VGA Box is out of the picture because I could not find one from any retail shops in Australia. That leaves the last two options. I have a Geforce 4 MX440 which has an s-video input. So my question is which one is better, s-video cable or tv card?
ok here's the thing... You're trying to compare apples and oranges when you say "which is better svideo cable or tv capture card?". The svideo cable would plug into the tv capture card to send the signal from the ps2 to the capture card which would then display it on the monitor. Also, just because it's a female svideo connector on the video card it doesn't automatically make it an input. Check the specs of your video card and you'll know if it's an input or output.
Hi i have a laptop with a S-VIDEO port would i be able to put my ps2 through it, i have checked my laptops manual and it has a picture of the port but it does not state wether its input or output it just says s-video port, its a female port.
Odds are, if you've just got the one video card in your system, it's going to be S Video out - for connecting your computer to a TV instead of a computer monitor, usually.
I use a TV Card myself to use my console on PC, that plus a program called http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/ Dscaler to actually access the signal.
ok, so i've researched and found out that my video card only supports tv-out. This means that i will not be able to play ps2 on my monitor unless i buy a tv card with s-video in rite?
