Ok ive searched the forum but cant find a definative answer for this.
I the memory card exploit installed on my ps2 and when triggers it boots straight to the cog swap loader, How Do i run backups from that point. do i need to use the slide card method anywhere

Yes, obviously. How else would you be able to swap discs?
Go to http://www.swapmagicfix.com and click on the link for "CogSwapLoader Usage", and apply a bit of common sense, since it'll most likely assume that your CogSwapLoader is on a disc.
