rule of thumb...... read the lable and make sure it's MADE IN JAPAN. Verbatim is the only exception to that rule as it's top notch media but made in Taiwan/Singapore!

Those combo packs were on sale last week for $14.99...Good price then, not so good price now.. I picked up a spindle of the R- and the R+. The DVD R- are made by Fuji, the DVD R+ are Ritek. Both are good media, not the best. Some burners may be picky on burning them. It seems made in Japan burners favor made in Japan media, and made in Taiwan or China burners favor Taiwan discs. Wait a week or two and they will be on sale again at 14.99 then buy them.

Well I've had Good results with the Ritek Brand media eg: Maxell's, OfficeDepot's ect ... and Normaly the OD disc are cheaper Than the maxells/Ritek even when the Maxells are on sale ! I have stuck with the 100Ct. spindles of OD media and not the 75/25 DVD/CDR splits And have noticed that the OD branded media in the non split media is either Riteks or RicohJpn , Lately the 100ct. Spindles have been RicohJpns & the 50's have been ritek's But considering that everyone has different burners and computers and needs your Burner might like them or might not like them as other members have said earlier ! No they are not up to Verbatim or taiyo Yuden standards but they are a viable decent media at a great price ! I understand that not everyone can afford Taiyo yuden all the time or You could use them for making copies of movies for your family without using up all your Verbatims or taiyo yudens ! to quote BilBo65 "It depends upon what you want to use them for." If you are'nt quite sure by a few singles 5/10 pack and try 'em if they work good for you buy the big 100 or 50 ct. packs ! try it you'll like it ( well Maybe LOL!) Ciao!
