Lol. his may sound daft, but just get another psp.. one for updating and one for all your homebrew apps and stuff. I got mine off www.freepsps.com but that was last year and the site is gone now but theres another good one mentioned in the bbc news(UK) and fox news(USA). and these sites are free.. anyways back to the point, if you want all the latest stuff for your psp just update one of them and downgrade the other for homebrew, xploits n loaders wtc ..:)

@LizzyD homebrew programmers are hard at work in creating downgraders for people like you that upgraded (even when the whole world is shouting DONT and just wait), even if they dont get paid, waste most of their time programming/coding/testing whatever time consuming that wastes their life. they are doing everything they can so that even stubborn people can enjoy the wonderful world of homebrew.
since you cant do anything on your 2.8 psp, i suggest you buy real UMD games so you can play or if youre really empty on the pocket, there's always free demo discs. heck why not use your psp as mp3 player, browse the web with its browser via anyones hotspot. or the worst... rent umd movies duh!
