Ok, here's the problem. When I try to download a torrent, it searches for trackers and other stuff like that, but the main download never begins. I waited for much time, and nothing happens. I'm using UTorrent
There are many guides on www.google.com that you can search for port forwarding. IF YOU HAVE A ROUTER or A firewall, you need to port forward!
2. ARE THERE ANY FIREWALLS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT?
Check if you have Windows XP firewall activated! Go to Control Panel > Network Connections > Click on your connection > Properties > Advanced Tab, see if the box is checked!
If you're going to use a firewall, don't use Windows XP, there are MUCH better ones out there.
3. EXPERIENCE SLOW SPEEDS? HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN TRY!
a) Download from private sites. Sites that require registration are usually A LOT faster than sites that don't.
b) If you're using a low port number such as 6881 for BT downloads, then chances are your ISP has blocked it. Use a higher port number such as 53000.
c) Make sure your upload is set at 75-80% of your max upload otherwise you might not be able to download to your maximum potential! Don't be a selfish leecher!
d) Enable protcol encryption under Utorrent,
If your ISP is throttling your traffic this will prevent it.
