Music Compilation Video-Some have loud hissing for audio

I have been attempting to create a music DVD that consists of songs from several different DVD's that I have, a kind of "Best Of" compilation disk. My first attempt was to use DVD Shrink's Start/End Frames feature to rip a VOB of each individual song that I wanted. That worked great. When I played the each VOB back on the computer through my DVD player program everything was fine and there was good sound on all songs. I then used Nero to put all the VOB's on one disk. It seemed to work great until I played the disk and some songs had no sound. I gave up until last night when I learned of a program called ConvertXtoDVD. Sounded just like what the doctor ordered. I downloaded the trial and using the same VOB files Shrink created, I arranged and burned a disk but when I played it back some of the songs had a loud hissing sound, the same ones that had no sound on my first attempt with Nero, all others were OK. Does anyone know what the problem might be? It seems like it is Shrink that can't handle a certain type of audio maybe, are there any other programs that would allow a person to set the start and end frames to grab only a portion of a disk like Shrink does? .....Thanks in advance, Mike
