thats what I was contemplating - a G5 Mac - mainly for film and video work - a big plus about the low virus count!
Ive heard they are more stable with video files?
dident the G5's come with Dual Quad processors?
does that mean there are 2x2 -- (4) processors working?
second, does that mean if they say its operating at 2ghz for example, are you getting 2 x 4ghz?
I recently bought a dual core PC @ 2.2ghz 90% happy with it performance wise but - for instance, I recently converted a vhs tape to dvd. In the PC my main programs (the ones that cost the most money) are the Adobe line. Including Premiere 2.0 and Encore DVD 2.0 etc.
however they would not accept the files being sent over from the VCR (via Dazzle hardware) but Windows Movie Maker WOULD!
But WMM WOULD NOT burn a dvd and the file from WMM WOULD NOT import into the Adobe products so I imported it into ULead Video Studio 8.0 then rendered an ISO image to the hard drive, then imported that into Premiere for some editing, then into Encore for a nice menu and burning.
Its a conveluted process but the DVD (a 2hr movie) burned without a hitch in under 10 min! Likey closer to 7 or 8 min!
I was wondering if the G5 with Final Cut Pro would be able to accept the imput signal from Dazzle? (although I hope not to be converting to may VHS tapes)
best, M/
I've learned the trick to getting to 30 cups of coffee a day is that you MUST START EARLY! Be pro-active - dont wait till the last few minutes to jam in a few more cups. Time yourself. You should be at 15 at least by noon! Let me know if you need more help in accomplishing this goal ;~)
