Are you wanting to take your store bought CD's & put them on your computer as MP3's? If so, I use Audiograbber.

Don't you know Windows media player or real media can actually do that?
as for Windows media player, put your cd in you rom, open WMP (windows media player) then go to rip tab. and just rip 'em.
as for real media, they'll ask you automatically.

the best CD ripper out there is called EAC (exact audio copy). Besides being free, for years it is the flagship ripper and all other rippers try to mimic. Don't waste your time and energy with windows media player, or itunes, or other crap like that. They may be fine for playing mp3s, but when it comes to ripping there is only one that can do it right. Its the only ripper with extensive ripping, encoding, and drive control features, and is the only ripper that can do a 100% accurate rip. When combined with the LAME mp3 encoder using VBR (variable bitrate) settings, you will be able to (freely) create the highest quality mp3s possible...

We have a guide on how to install, setup, configure, and use EAC and LAME. You can find the link to the guide in my sig below...

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Yeah but you don't want to use spyware like WMP or RealPlayer/Jukebox.

Use Exact Audio Copy (EAC). However, I recommend converting to WAV or a lossless format e.g. FLAC and use those for archival purposes. Convert to MP3 if necessary for your MP3 player, etc. MP3, even at its best settings, is very lossy and of compromised quality. Consider that, in a few years, MP3 will likely be thing of the past. If your source is uncompressed (original) or capable of being restored that way (as a lossless compression can) then you won't lose any quality converting to whatever future format there is. But converting from one lossy format, like MP3, to possibly another down the road will magnify any quality problems.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
