sorry for my ignorance guys but i would like to know what a modchip is n what does it do?(does it provide some protection or something form getting bricked)

a mod chip can unbrick your psp, it lets you play isos and homebrew from any firmware by downgrading it i think.

if u install a modchip before ur psp is bricked then is it that ur psp wont get bricked
