Hi everyone, I've got a question about the memory card exploit getting to work with my Swap Magic 3.8 (Coder). I want to play my back-up game of Xenogears on my V12 Slim PStwo. I've heard that SM can't boot PS1 backups so after some searching i've heard you can either purchase a Breaker Pro to play the PS1 backups, or use a memory card exploit. Obviously i'd prefer not to spend any more money :P, so i read a tutorial on how to do the memory card exploit.
This is where i get problems, all the tutorials i've seen are for Swap Magic 3.6, and the menu differs a bit between 3.6 and 3.8 so i don't know what to do.Basically I just want the answer to these questions:
1.Will a Memory Card Exploit let me play my Xenogeras backup on my PStwo?
2.Can this be done using Swap Magic 3.8 (Coder)
3. Can anyone post a tutorial, or direct me to one which shows instructions using Swap Magic 3.8?

Any help is much apreciated, so Thanks in advance.

the PSTWO can play burnt PSX games.
all you need is a real copy of a PSX game and you also have to know how to make the playstation run with the lid up.

There is a fundamental flaw in this. Basically if mainly affects PAL user though (and I'm a PAL user), becuase most *good* games are available in NTSC anyway. PSone games ONLY work. I have a guide for method for this using the PS2 slimline (was removed from this site?), but it requires some magics keys (or a way to keep your lid up).

Here it is:
Basically with this method you can only boot games from the same region as your PS2. i.e NTSC (USA ps2) can only play NTSC(USA) PSone games.
But you can't boot USA games on the PAL system and vice verca. But I found a way around this.

Really? I haven't to any NTSC games working unless I "skip" ahead to the PSone BIOS screen to switch. I'll try agian.

Thanks guy's i managed to get it to work, but i'm a little worried if that would damage the PStow at all? It doesn;t look like a good idea to stop the disc when its spinning.

I've done this many times and so far it has nothing has stuffed up on my ps2. You just have to be quick when you take out the disc, then when the disc is out it will spin then stop, spin then stop. When it stops thats when you put the cd in.
