i have put a thread previous to find out how to downgrade thanks 4 that info but i have also read that there are disadvantages when you do this i.e you cannot play your umd discs if this is so what do i have to do after downgrading to make sure i can play the discs on my psp

you get a software liek devhook to emulate another firmware i.e 2.71 and then you can play your umd's

but some umds only require 1.5 so you won't need anything to play those, but if it's something that tells you to update, don't update, just launch devhook set to play umd.

(thought i'd clarify a bit more)

u can;t play some of the games but the ones u can'y play you can use devhook to emulate a higher firmware
