AVI2DVD - Hcenc (not responding)

This may be quite an obvious question here, but..

Using AVI2DVD for the first time, following the guide here.

I am converting a 290Mb AVI file to dvd

Eachtime HCenc pops up, it times out. I have stopped everything else running on the machine, but no luck.

Is my laptop: 1.5 Celeron 512Mb just not powerfull enough?
I have left it about 10/20 mins, but nothing

After using AviSynth it seems the file wasn't complete.
