Hi;

Sorry if not the right forum, please direct me if there is a more apporopriate one. I also searched without finding an answer...

I have a DVD (advertising a product; not entertainment) that I would like to rip to provide the advertising video on a web page, which should be viewable on a standard PC or Mac by unsophisticated users, without requiring them to download any additional codecs.

My question is, what format(s) should I export to, and what tools should I use to do it? For my own use, I've used DVD Decrypter & AutoGK, but that generates DivX/XVid video, which is not playable on standard PC's without downloading one of the codecs. Is there a good codec/format which is playable by both out-of-the-box Macs & PC's?

you'll then convert it into a Flash video(.Flv) in order to play it order to play it on a website.

You can use "Riva FLV Encoder" to enable you to encode video files to Flash video.... :) Good Luck
