I ahve limewire 4.10 pro. I try to start it, but it is stuck on "starting connection" and also has the globe and wall icon which reads "Limewire has detected a firewall" but its strange because I have turned my windows secruity centre firewall to "off"
Anyone had this problem before please find me a solution thank you

Dont you know that limewire is in sh!t over its head???? The Gnuetlla network isnt the way to go unless you want to be sued, use bittorrent, warez, newsgroups etc. to protect yourself!!! Stop using Limewire now!!!

@04alexdt, Are you behind a router'?

And yes, its reccomended you use torrents, I only use the Gnutella network for the odd song..

Then you need to forward ports through your router. Go to http://portforward.com find you router, and follow the instructions for the app you want ports forwarded for (bitlord, limewire), but i still highly recommend stop using Limewire, playing with fire.

If you are behind a router, then you should check that you have "port forwarded". There is a very good stickied guide on that in this forum.
Again, there are lots of guides you can read up on to increase speeds of torrents.

An obvious thing is are you d/l'ing torrents with lots of seeders? Or connecting to those seeders?

i need help with limewire Pro 4.12.3, i used to be able to download at speeds of 16-60kbps but now the best speeds i get is only 0-1kbps, there is no firewall, connection is always turbocharged. Ive also been to a few other forums but got little help from it. Any help on this issues is appreciated. Thanks
