well, that depends on what MCC you are comparing to the TYG03s (16x DVD-R Taiyo Yuden) :)
if you are comparing the DASH format (DVD-R), you will be far fetched to find anything better than a GENUINE Taiyo Yuden (TYG01/TYG02/TYG03) -4x/8x/16x respectively~
i PERSONALLY do not like the MCC DVD-R Verbatim media, they do NOT compare to TYs as the DVD+R format do (MCC002/MCC003/MCC004- Verbatims to the YUDEN000T01/YUDEN000T02/YUDEN000T03 Taiyo Yudens)
the Hitachi made 8x speed Maxells (MIJ) in the DVD-R format are very good, in my opinion, on par with the Taiyo Yudens~ both of them trounce the MCC equivalent in the DVD-R format IN MY OPINION. :)
either or, you can't really go wrong w/ either TYs or Verbs, or as creaky knows, his own TY made Verbs~ :) (the sexy ones) there is more than room to argue which is "better" based on an individual's own preferences...but, what good is that debate? what works for one, may not be so "good" for another...use a small spindle of both and compare for yourself as to which YOU (as the user) likes "better" :)

i'm too busy causing www.svp.co.uk to go out of stock over this side of the pond each time new Verb TY come out here (except TYG03, i haven't been near any of those, can't be greedy all the time)

i can't remember how many hundred of those i bought at the time, oh hang on they were tubs of 50 so it was probably 6 or 8 tubs i think, still haven't even opened most of those yet :)
