What a nightmere.
Awarning about this Philips DVDR 3400/17 DVD Writer.
Here is where you cansee it:
http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer...RESHQNHKFSEKI5P After 25 hours of discussions with other experts from forums, Philips, etc, this potentiallyexcellent and inexpensive DVD writer doesn't deliver.
Simply stating, What is says in the specifications, user manual, web site that it can do, then you find out. That the documentation wrong and it cannot do what it states it can do The incredible limitations on media, where Philipssays t hat it runs on just about ant DVD+-R and RW, even DL. Then I going crazy and I get on their web site with a recommended list of a small handfull of mostly cheap CMC made media and aND THEY ARE DVD + R ONLY !![BOLD].
That is just the tip of the iceberg. Their remote has buttons to regulate the volumne and TV stations by pushing a button. Then in small print in the documentation it stays, [bold]This only works for Philips TVs only There is NOT a list of a way to get the remote to work with other vendors !
DiVX is very important to me and I want a new DVD standalone player that works really well with DivX, and can do all of the typical things.
Since I am there, I want to look at some DVD Writers, that I can use to backup some TV shows (I have a Cable box the allows for digital stations and premium stations).
Maybe I will look at Liteon, they have been doing this for a while.
