Resident Evil 5 has not been announced for the Wii.
However, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is an exclusive Wii title currently being developed.

I remember reading some where that the Wii will get its own RE or remake of one of the others. If its a remake, i'm hoping its RE2.

UC stands for Umbrella Chronicles, which I already stated.

Hey, shouldn't oofRome be posting something about the new Wii Resident Evil title?
lol.
Seriously though, while I'm looking forward to RE5 in a couple years (GI has confirmed 2008), I'm happy to see that the Wii will be getting a revised RE game before then, that uses the Wiimote. It'd be nice for Wii users to get the new RE5; but instead of releasing a stripped down, slow version of RE5 on the Wii, I'd rather see them do a re-release that works well. It's a wise decision from Capcom if you ask me.

The reason it is stripped down and not as good as resident evil 5 is because the wii cant handle the power overal of resident evil 5.

Yeah, confirmed for the 360 a few weeks before mentioned for the PS3, ironically.
As for 'stripped down', I guess my post wasn't read completely. I was stating that instead of them releasing a really stripped down version of RE5 for the Wii(Which people would have complained about); they are re-doing a prior Resident Evil with added functionality for the Wii. This is a wise decision, because a stripped down RE5 would have probably upset some fans more than an exclusive re-make. I think the idea of a Wii exclusive re-make with use of the Wiimote will be very fun to play.
It's a good decision, IMO. I'm glad they are giving Wii customers a feature-rich exclusive, instead of a stripped down port.
