I am hoping for some help.

I am using Xilisoft DVD Ripper platinum 4 to rip my dvd's for a few days now, which has gone well so far. However I am having a major problem trying to rip 'Field of Dreams'.

For some reason when i rip this I get a black bar on left and right of the movie. I expect the bars on top/bottom as it is a widescreen film, but not on left/right. I think the problem stems from if i click on the whole film file of any of the chapters within this file and select properties, it says the DVD or chapters are 4:3 aspect ratio, when this is clearly not the case. I have tried editing this but it cannot be modified.

I have tried forcing the rip in 16:9 and 1.7777 but it just gives me a smaller video file with a larger black surround.

In Xilisoft DVD Ripper there is a 'preview screen', and even this displays the screen with a black box ( I am using 480 x 272 video size - for my archos).

I hope someone can help
