I only have one option, I live in Canada and have to purchase the Playo DVD+R DL from blankmedia.ca because I am not sure if meritline shipments will have a customs charge on it or not, so I don't want to take that risk. I would purchase the Verbatim ones from blankmedia.ca, but I only need a 5-10 pack, and they don't have those, they only have 20-25 pack for Verbatim or even for Ridata. So, can someone comment on the quality of Playo DVD+R DL quality, is it any good? I am not sure, because it's pretty cheap, so I can't really know.
That's a pretty description of Playo' quality . . another description of Playo's quality would be "non-existant"
I'm pretty sure that they will code as RicohJpnD00 which, are marginally usable at best . . and I'm sure that Playo would be selling the "B" grade stuff which is a complete waste of time and money
PURCHASE THESE DISCS AT YOUR OWN RISK !! And if you do purchase them, don't complain when you end up with expensive coasters

thanks, guess I will have to get it from somewhere else, i dont want to order from so many different places... verbatim DVD-R 16x 50 pc are on sale at staples for $16... but then their DL are so expensive, and so are the inkjet printable ones... I need 50 inkjet hub printable, 50 silver matte, and 5-10 DL DVD's. I would like Verbatim and Ridata only, anyone recommend a good place to get these, in these quantities that ships to Canada without any customs?
i have never used playo, but if they are Ricojapan then id say they are good....i dont see y rico is a bad brand. i mean, if they are that cheap and ided to be CMC or something then yeap they suck. But rico jpn is ok, unless ricoh gets CMC to make discs...

RICOHJPN can be a good disk... it all depends if it's the ones made in Japan or the ones made in Taiwan! I won't use any RICOHJPN made in Taiwan and the only ones that I will use that are made in Taiwan are Verbatim! End of story.....
the only DL disks I would use are Verbatim ...... until Taiyo Yuden decides to make the DLs!
You know, it would be a real treat if somehow we could get one or two of the "other" discs as samples to try out. With the sudden swarm of "new brand" DLs hitting the market, I'm still loyal to Verbatim. And a lot of these newbie brands are $1 per disc and sometimes less with a one day supersale. Still the old rule of getting what you pay for holds true.
Yet, I'd like to have one or two DL discs from Playo, Ritek, Samsung, Matrix, Imation, Fuji, and yes even Memorex, etc. just to run tests and compare. One would think that somehow, a sampling of each could be obtained without having to purchase a whole 5 or 10 pack.

Really! You bought it, we won't take it back! LOLOLOL. Seriously, some online stores offer 1 or 3 pack samples, but in just a few select brands. And they'll nail you on shipping.
Think the government will give out a grant if we apply and say it's for researching the effects of DLs on global warming or something else like that?
