nero vision express 3 and distorted pictures

I'm trying to burn an AVI file to dvd using Nero vision
express 3. When I add the file to Nero vision express 3
the picture is distorted in that the color is fine but the
picture is warped at an angle. It is only doing this
with AVI files that exceed the capacity of a normal
DVD file. Another AVI file that I used, which did
not exceed the capacity of a normal dvd, was not
yielding a distorted picture. So perhaps this
capacity issue is the cause of this problems. Has anyone
ran into this problem before? What might be a possible
workaround? Additionally, the AVI files that exceed the
capacity of a normal dvd play fine(i.e., no distorted picture)
in my video players (DivX, Nero showtime, etc).
