hey,

lately i have been using the ares p2p programme to download games, films etc. however, my download speed is always around 25kb/s max! i have opened "port forwarded" port number 5458 on my "bt voyager 2110" router but still have no luck. i have 2mb broadband. you guys always seem to be helpful so any help is welcomed!

You can have the best internet connection on Earth and you still may not get better speeds, it does not depend on your connection when leeching for good speeds, as much as it does on the connection of the host, seed etc. If your host(s) has a good connection for uploading then your download speed, provideing conditions are right, will be good.

I don't know what Ares is but it sounds like a program similar to LimeWire or Frostwire and such, I suggest giving BitTorrent a go now, you can experience superior speeds amazing connnection and above all great safety.
If you are unsure, but still want to try out BitTorrent, you will need a client, I suggest, and I believe any other member would suggest, UTorrent, for begginers it is great, simple and easy to use interface.
There are also some great guides stickied at the top of this forum section you might want to check out aswell.
