Good question because i dont either, but i think it makes the file smaller.

same thing happens to me, but lets wait for someone more technique to help.

I hope its not something real simple because it would be embarrasing for us not to know.

Yo after you hit add to archive... and the WinRAR options pop up. Look to the bottom left and select split to volumes , bytes.

For a file that is about 700mb its ideal(at least when torrenting) to split it up into 15,000,000 bytes(aka 15mb). Just type 15,000,000 into the drop down window(Split to volumes ,bytes).

then select the diectory folder you wish to create the archive and hit start.

Is that what you were wondering?

If the file is over 800 or so megabytes its better to make bigger pieces so type 50,000,000 insted of 15,000,000. Then your rars should come out to be 50mb.

get it? hope it helps

Yo Ramon, its really not a good idea split up the archive if your file/s is under 100mbgive or take . For the simple fact that its more files for you and your comp. to keep track of. Also it takes longer for your computer to move it, so just stick with the single archive.

I actually prefer the single WinRAR archive, but when sharing p2p its not as efficient for the future of the torrent. And most sites have rules saying you must slit it up. Of course there are exceptions, but that's the general rule I like to stick by.

And blade don't be so cheap, at least get dvd's next time.
http://www.diskdepot.co.uk/ they sell 50 pcks of dvd for 10$ sometimes.

And another thing Ramon it doesn't have to be a single file. Just highlight multiple iso's or any files and do the same exact thing. So they will become one archive with multiple parts(rar's). Thats handy for things like making a back up of your psp root for safe keeping. And then a super easy istall just extract to the root and its same as before. You probably knew that, but it really comes in handy.

Splitting is extremely useful with newsgroups cos if you have the archive split into 15MB sections, using the right software will also create basically repair file called PAR2 when you go to share it on usenet. That way if any of the files get corrrupted during your uplaod or their download the par2 files can actually reconstruct the damaged parts. yeah its an extra step and yeah it requires newsgroup access but its pretty much flawless and you will get exactly what the poster meant to post.

Im only strictly private tracker though. I say its better to share with people you know and trust. Its alot more fun, belive it or not. I say leave all the scene stuff alone theres too many people involved already.

Sharing is better with friends hands down. Even if the file takes longer to DL or UPL its. Thats my 2cents.
