hey people. i jus got F.E.A.R. i luv pc games. im running it on my dell laptop centrino duo so it flows well but once i start the game it shuts down and returns to windows just before the action starts. this is a great game. really need ur help guys.
my video cards a mobile intel(r) 945gm express chipset family
like i said, it runs really smooth, but once i get to the vampire guy that lays u flat, the game jus shuts down and returns to windows. very iritating. non-the less, i tried reducing the resolution and stuff but it didnt make a difference. yeah theres an update but its a terribly large file. i used t have the same problem with Battlefront 2.....but it fixed it self? Not having the same luck with this one though. pls hlp. thnx
OK. I just looked at the box on my copy of FEAR. It says your processor must be at least 1.7 GHz or better. Could be your problem. Recommends a processor speed of 3.0 GHz.
I am not familiar with your video card. The box says 64 MB GF 4 Ti or Radeon 9000 video card required. Might be a problem. There is a whole list of supported chipsets for ATI and nVidia. I see no mention of yours.
Do you have DirectX 9.0 installed.
My system runs at 3.0 GHz and I still had to lower some settings. Some lags at points in the game. It is a resource hog and it probably will crash somewhere if you are weak on any of the requirements.
ok well i jus tried lowering the settings but that didnt help either. i guess that leaves patches and updates. the updates are really large so ill try a patch first. Anybody know wat kinda patches i shud get. im really sorry if im askin too much, my experience lies wit the psp so im a noob wit da pc. i jus realized my computer was an untapped resource.
Not to thrash a horse, but you probably won't have too much success running the game on that laptop. The processor speed is a little short. And the video card chipset might or might not be supported.
Anyway, good luck with trying. BTW, I just got my issue of the Extraction Point expansion pack in the mail today. The requirements are at least as high.
