i just downloaded an anime ova, while i was watching the subtitles are overlaping each other for some reason. this is happening with my other mkv files that i downloaded. is there anyway i can fix it? so it shows 2 seperate subs instead of 1 whole line of jumbled stuff?

inadvance thanks

I would recommend to extract the mkv files using mkvextract, use subtitle workshop to check timecodes for overlapping subs, and making any necissary changes, then recompiling using mkvmerge. It's not a small project but it's not too difficult, subtitle workshop also has automatic error checking and correction. It will just take a while to fix. Good luck.

Every night has its day.

I think.
