Hello

Im new to all this but i installed bittorrent about a week ago,ive done so much reading up its unreal and im gunna pull my hair out soon or smash my pc up,so any help would be appreciated

My system is on wireless broadband , i do not have a router !

Ive tried opening ports in the firewall

Ive tried turning off my windows firewall

i also have sygate personal firewall but ive allowed bittorrent

Ive enabled automatic port forwarding

i have heard that my isp has blocked p2p sharing

Bittorrent still downloads but on average 10kb/s 20kb/s max , i am fully aware that downloads take time to pick up,ive left it running for hours but doesnt seem to get much better ? takes me a few days to download 100mb,sometimes it just stops for hours ?

any ideas ?

If your ISP has blocked p2p file sharing than why are you trying to download, ofcourse your going to get no connection or slow downloads if your ISP has blocked BT traffic.

Have you thought about how many seeds and leeches there are in a Torrent? I usualy get 30kb download speed and sometimes I get 200kb because it all depends on the torrent.

Have you tried limiting your upload speed yet?
I suggest you get UTorrent, because you say you are new, and I suggest you read these two guides if you have not done so already.
...:::::*rav009's Bit Torrent Safety & Privacy Guide*:::::...(NEW!!)
and
Max Out Download Speed using Utorrent

After you have done that you should see some results, but thats a maybe.

What you need to know is you can have the best internet connection on Earth and you still may not get better speeds, it does not depend on your connection when leeching for good speeds, as much as it does on the connection of the host, seed etc. If your host(s) has a good connection for uploading then your download speed, provideing conditions are right, will be good.
So unless if you want to go around giving seeders and leechers better ISP's you should just leave it at what you got.
If you ISP has blocked BT traffic outright then I guess it is time you changed ISP.
