Soldering a chip in is better all the way around, you don't have to worry about faulty connections or anything. It just takes a little practice on a spare circuit board to get used to, and the kit (15 watt) costs like 8 bucks at Radio Shack. I'd just solder, man.

To download:
1) Connect to IRC using a program called MIRC (from download.com)
2) Connect to an EFNET server
3) Go to channel #xbins
4) Follow the instructions
5) Download what you need from the FTP site

xIso == bad, use Craxtion with GDFImage

now how can you say that soldering a chip is better? in theory, yes the conections should be better, but solder connections break and then it has to be resoldered, which is more involved than just realignment. my matrix has never once came out of alignment and i have 4 kids that play on it so it gets yanked around and moved from room to room, but still never 1 single problem, and i'm not the only one. what if the board dies and you need to put the chip in another xbox? with a no-solder, it's much easier to do that. Now don't get me wrong, i'm not at all saying that a no-solder chip is better than a solder chip, all i'm saying is you can't say that one is better than the other when it really comes down to personal preference. and this guy asked about a solderless chip, maybe he simply does not want to solder. posting a thread like that has caused major problems for people in the past. you might weant to read this one http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/30646 _ and please dont read that thinking that i'm saying you're going as far as these users did, but i want you to see where making a post like that can cause a big mess and things can get out of hand.

Allow me to rephrase this - Which preflashed solderless chip works with any version of xbox and is easily hooked up to an on/off switch.

i put 2 switches on my matrix chip so i wouldn't have to open the box to switch modes if i wanted to flash of go on live. it was pretty easy.
Netscanur - do you have an xecutor? if so , would it be easy to switch one, or do you even need too?
