You need to take some time and describe what is wrong in a way it could be duplicated by someone trying to help you. For example, what were you doing and what does 19:50 mean. What type of file were you using--basically just go through the steps you take prior to the problem you are having.

Yes, now I understand.

If you look at the wizard on step 1 there is a max recording time listed. Does that correspond to your cutoffs?

Does this happen on all records you record, or just this one? And does it always happen at exactly the same time?

If it is only one record, is there something at that position which might cause it to cutoff, like an extended silence or quiet section?

Is anything happening outside the recording that might interrupt the program? You might try shutting down all other utilities or anything that might be accessing the net.

Is SoundTrax itself changing modes or jumping from one phase to another?

Do you get any error logs?

I am using Nero 7, so it may be a little different. I was just trying to determine if the file size was causing a limitation. I suppose a way to check that would be to lower the quality of the recording and see if it went longer.

Anyway, answers to the other questions might help.

I have been playing with SoundTrax for 2 days trying to get the process down so I can record my old records. It has been so long since I have played them, I forgot they have 2 sides!

Anyway, there should be something that tells you how long you can record. This probably refers to your disk capacity as to how much it will hold. There is also a Project time that should be set to 80, but you might check yours.

In my SoundTrax, the wizard is an option when you start the program, or you can choose it from the tool bar.

Something I might add in case you have the same problem, I recorded a couple of albums and tried to burn them to CDs, or the image recorder. I discovered that with some file types (.aac, .wav), the CD track markers did not stay in the correct position with the actual tracks, or the tracks were changed or something like that. I have found so far, that using a .aif file seems to keep the track markers in the correct position. If you discover anything in reference to this, let me know. Something to check is the actual track length as listed on the LP versus the track length after you get it into SoundTrax. I also could not burn using .wav files because the output studdered.

hi salty,
craig campbell mentioned this to me;at the top of the soundtrax there is an option for tools-go in there and youll see an option
4 adjust silence between tracks-open that up and put 2 in the sp
-ace.try that out.

That is not what I discovered. I will try to explain it, but it might be hard.

You set up your tracks on the CD--when you play it, the player normally switches tracks just where the new audio starts. But, if you use certain types of files, the player will switch tracks while the old track is still playing. I have seen anywhere for 12 to 30 seconds variance in the difference between the actual end of the audio track and the point at which the new track starts in the player. And, the length of the track was off by that much from what was indicated on the LP.

I.E. You are playing track 4--before the song is over, the player switches to track 5 while still playing the audio from track 4.

It is about the same type of thing folks have problems with when the Audio is not synced to the video on a DVD. I found, so far, if you use the .aif file format, the designated and actual start and ends of the audio tracks stay in sync.

If you don't notice it, maybe I am doing something wrong. More experimentation is at hand! ;)

I know, but the original problem should have been solved. The only things I can see that might be stopping the recording, assuming it is not a trial, would be if you did not have room on your hard drive (Recording Console just above "Change Target File") , you have it set to shut off for a silence (same page "Shutoff after 20 seconds of silence), or your project alloted time is about 20 minutes (Options-Project Settings-General).If it isn't any of those, and since I don't have your version of the software to try, I can't help. Are you listening to the audio so you can hear what is actually being recorded?

My other comments are referring to your next problem ;)

OK, I have another suggestion for you. Record the LP using the WaveEditor instead of SoundTrax. Record the entire album and then edit it as you desire. When you are done, go under the Edit menu and "Add Track Splits" at the locations you want the tracks to start. Make sure you add one for the first track.

When you have finished that, go back under Edit and "Save Tracks as Files". This is where you need to use the .aif or PCM(.wav) format so the tracks will stay aligned.

Now, open SoundTrax and add the files to the compliation. Now you can move the individual tracks around or change their order or whatever. Next use the "Add track splits" here by right clicking just above the tracks, so you can add track information prior to burning. Now you should be in the same situation as you would have been if you had used SoundTrax to start with. The one big advantage to this is, should SoundTrax decide to error out, you still have the tracks on your hard drive and can replace them.

If you can't record more than 19 minutes in WaveEditor, then I would still have to guess your are being limited by space available on the hard drive.
