Hi all gotta admit to be a bit blown away by all this at the mo. Thought once had d/graded my sons psp from a 2.6 to a 1.5 it was all gonna be plain sailing from there. WRONG!!!

Cut a long story, after spendin all sat afternoon trying unsuccesfully to run an iso through devhook my small brain decided that hitting the update was a good idea.

Now got a 2.0 in settings and not really sure what it means. Is it bad or good?

I think you just did what you had before. You had the psp updated, then downgraded it, and then hit the upgrade which, well upgraded it again. So now you have to downgrade again.

Thanks for the reply bud. As far as can remem it was a 2.6 when bought.

So what your saying is I'll need to update to a 2.6 (The point where i started this morning about 9am) & then use the 2.5/2.6 downgrader again to hopefully get back to a 1.5?

O the joy. I can hardly wait! In fact given the choice between a day like today or a swift kick in the plums, I'd get the ice ready.

@Matty_K

Yes you could update to 2.6 and then re-downgrade. But if you have a highspeed connection then you could just as easily download the files for the 2.0-to-1.5 downgrader and go from there. Here is a guide that is on afterdawn that will give you links to all the files you need and will guide you through the process of preparing your psp for the downgrade (ex. were to put the files, etc.)

Heres the link and good luck

Why not upgrade to 2.71-SE? All the same as 1.5, 'cept you don't need Dev Hook to run your backups.

Do the all the updates in sequence.

2.71 SE-A
2.71 SE-B
2.71 SE-B'
2.71 SE-B"

you dont have go thru all the updates. i know u can atleast start at se-b. but sometimes people would rather use devhook and wanna flash a custom firmware. like me and some other people i know.

You can use devhook in 2.71-SE same like 1.5. Put the firmware files on the stick and away you go.

I haven't read one good reason to stay with 1.5 anywhere.

All the Devhook mods work the same. Any old homebrew that doesn't work can be fixed with PSPBrew.

It's a nostalgic thing I think..... Shrug.

You should be safe to downgrade, but just in case make sure you DONT have a TA-82 mobo, See here, And if you dont have that mobo you should be safe.
