First time poster here. So helloooo to you all.
I've not used my PSP in about 6 months. I've just switched it on and realise it's on v1.52.
I've tried reading through all the guides and FAQS but i'm quite confused as to what to do next.
I've got a Tekken ISO i'd like to play but i've no idea where to start.
I used to use ISOLOADER to launch ISO's when i used it last, but it looks like things have moved along loads since then.
Do i have to upgrade my firmware? or can i do it with the current version?
cheers in advance...there's so much information out there i don't know where to start.

if you know how to upgrade youll want to upgrade to 2.0. downgrade... from 2.0 to l.5 and then install devhook. devhook emulates newer firmwares and doubles as a game loader. post back if u need help with this.

thanks for your quick response. i figured that i'd have to do something similar to that. would you mind pointing me in the right direction??
i've not got a GTA UMD, as i read somewhere that during an upgrade/downgrade it might be needed.
i'm quite excited as i've not used it in ages
cheers yimpster.

FYI it's a UK standard PSP.
I seem to remember doing this upgrade - downgrade lark when i bought it. Is it possible for it to go back to factory settings if it's not used in a long time?

like will it upgrade or downgrade on it's own? no.
if it sits for a while and the battery goes dead, you'll have to re-enter the information like time and stuff, but as far as your system software changing itself beyond that, it won't happen, the UK portion doesn't make a difference though :-)

Yimpster..
1) CHECK IF YOU HAVE TA-082!!!!
2)
Upgrade to 2.71 and use the "Easy Downgrader for 2.71"
Get it from http://www.qj.net
Then install devhook .46 (Ultimate Installer) There should be a ISO folder on your root of your MS (Memory Stick).. If not, make it yourself..
Now set your ISO game there and start devhook..
Enjoy!
im here.

2.0 update - http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/5
1.5 update - http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4
downgrade for 2.0 - http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/3
create a folder named UPDATE inside of the GAME folder. the 2.0 update goes there. run the update. once you have 2.0 delete the update and put the 1.5 update in its place. extract the downgrader and copy the files to your psp. it includes an easy to follow readme on where the files go. once u browse to pictures and see white text on ur psp and it freezes, reboot it. check the version, once it says 1.00 you're good to go to run the 1.5 update, and you'll be a proud 1.5 owner. if my pointers were to concise post back and i can write in more detail.

thats the easy downgrader. it installs on the psp for you and then at the end tells u wat to do to get it to run. if it doesnt run the first time dont be discouraged. the exploit isnt perfected so it doesnt run every time. some people have had to run it 30+ times before it executes properly.

hey no problem at all. like my sig says, always glad to help out a fellow ad-er. i would suggest using the .46 ultimate installer. it installs all the files to ur psp for you. with older versions u had to have all the right settings but in .46 they come all pre-set. all you have to do is select the iso u wanna play and have a umd in and you're set. do you need a link to the ultimate installer?

If your at 1.50 now, go for the 2.71 se-b firmware which loads iso and cso straight from the memory stick without messing about with devhook.

I would check devhook just to make sure the clockspeed isnt at 333, if it is change to 222. sometimes there has been problems like this after downgrading from 2.71. it involves upgrading to 2.0 and then going back to 1.5.

no 222 is the normal clockspeed for the psp. although if u compress SOME games are known to lag.
