Just can't upgrade from V1.0?? Please Help

Guys, I'm having a real problem trying to upgrade my PSP from V1.0 and I've tried a few different upgraders and read loads of posts and guides but I just can't get past this. I've downgraded to V1.0 perfectly but when I run the updater it starts then says:

'The system cannot be updated. The update data is not applicable for this system. (CTA800000025)'

PLease, please help. Thanks in advance.

download a new 1.50 eboot from PSP-Hacks.com and put it in GAME>>UPDATE

and make sure they are in caps

Thanks. I downloaded EBOOT1.5 again and installed it in the UPDATE (all caps) folder and when I ran it the exact same thing happens. Appreciate the help though. Really starting to think there's something wrong with this PSP. Any other suggestions?

yeah upgrade using a game or the network update you will end up with 2.82 but its better than a useless psp :)

i would buy a $20 game that requires 2.0 if worst comes to worst.

Example SSX on Tour, plus it is a good game.

Then downgrade (you will end up with a clean firmware that way)

And one last thing i would try restoring the default settings (under system settings). One time i couldnt read any text in the update untill i did so.

the same thing happened to me when i got a partial brick it wouldnt update to fw 2.71 or fw 2.00 so i updateed to fw 1.52 and the fw 2.00 then i downgrader try that
