I have had the DVD X Copy Express for around 3 years. My computer died. We got new computer and when we loaded the program it came up with an error stating that we had too many activations on it. My question is can we recover it? If not do I have to buy a $70.00 upgrade? Is the upgrade legit?
Thanks for any help.

dvd x copy got shut down at least 3 years ago and has no updates , what i would do is get ripit4me it is free and works great with the newer movies, i started out with dvd x copy and for it's time it was great, but that was then and this is now, so in short get rid of the dvd x copy, if you want to spend some money on a good paid program you would want to buy clone dvd and AnyDVD, some of the best programs money can buy a lot of users here have this combo, you can get the link at this site, and i think that they have a small amount of money off if you buy both programs togeather, hopw that helps good luck happy burning have a nice day

yeah x copy is toast it will not do the newer movies being it hasnt updated in years

so welcome to 2006 powabbit lol , your best option now is CloneDVD 2 + AnyDVD theres a 21 day free trial to try before you buy just download it at www.slysoft.com and heres a guide to use the program

I've been away for a while so I'm not too updated it seems. I'm still usuing DVD Decrypter since I found it was the best, had the most options, and was the most accurate. Just wondering if there are problems with it now and what new program would be comparable to it? Also is DVD Shrink still around and is it good? Just need a way to put the not so important DVDs onto a single layer disk.

mgray69, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink doesn't update anymore so it will not do the newer movies by its self. you have a couple options you can run AnyDVD behind DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink or use CloneDVD 2 + AnyDVD (this is my top choice) or theres a new program called "RipIt4Me" which combines DVD Decrypter "FixVTS" and DVD Shrink all freeware and it works very well you can download and read about it here

or CloneDVD 2 + AnyDVD theres a free 21 day trial

and a guide to use the programs

Peanuts2

I did contact them and they told me there are no updates for me because I've had that version for around 5 years but I could try the "new" Xcopy software free for 3 days. Then it would cost me $70.00.
I was also told they would keep checking on updates

I think I'm gonna go with the suggested software given in this forum. CloneDVD and AnyDVD. They are giving a 21 day trial and the total cost is around $50.00

Thanks for all you help
