bugginout,
First of all, I need to know your home system what kind of dvd player you are having? As far as I am concerned, I know that some older generation dvd players do not support burning dvd disks.
Second, what kind of dvd media did you use to burn? You should use dvd media like verbratim, sony, taiyo yuden and maxell.
If you are using memorex dvd disks or some cheap dvd media to burn you are asking for trouble.
By the way, what is TOAST mention in your message can you explain a little more?
If you want to burn a good dvd you must follow the golden rules.
1. Good dvd media.
2. Burning speed must not more than 4X.
3. You got to have the latest firmware for your burner.
4. Select dvd-rom when burning.

its not an issue of being able to burn a disk... The problem is that the burned disk doesnt play on my regular dvd-player which is hooked up to my TV... It playes fine on my computer... I have a MAC quicksilver, and a G5 pioneer burner... but thats not the issue... I am using a program called TOAST TITANIUM by Roxio... I have been using DVD-R DL disks by MEMOREX.... I just want to know why it won't play on my regular dvd player... If it is an issue of it being a DVD+R then what can I use instead so it will play on my regular player... Thanks....

Hi,
Like I said before some older generation dvd players do not support burned disk. When burning your dvd try to select dvd-rom and try not to use roxio becos it is a programme that nobody will like to use it.
check your dvd player whether it supports DVD-R or DVD+R.
Dvd-r format so far is mostly widely used for most dvd players.

With its high-end component-video DVD outputs, VHS recording and playback abilities, built-in MP3 decoding, and compatibility with JPEG image CDs and Kodak Picture CDs, Samsung's DVD-V4600 DVD/VCR combo is a conveniently slim entertainment dynamo. Now you'll be able to enjoy a slideshow of your digital pictures right on your television. It will play video-mode DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs, too, making it a great gift for family members with whom you'd like to share your home videos on DVD. This model also includes front-panel audio/video inputs so you can quickly and easily hook up a camcorder or gaming console.
this is hat it says for my machine... I don't get it... it says it should play DVD+R discs but it doesnt... I'm lost......

Hi,
I have a suggestion to make. Why not try another like verbatim, taiyo yuden or maxell to burn and play it on your home system.
And you let me know whether it will play in your system, ok?

Hi,
In order to play well on your dvd player good dvd media plays a very important part. Memorex is a crap dvd media and everybody here is trying to eliminate them.

Hi,
I will now give you a link of what our members got to say about memorex disk ok?
First of all, let me tell you memorex disk is manufactured by CMC which is known as the worse manufacture for dvd disk.
