action replay max max drive

I'm having trouble updating my code list using the max drive. Here's what happens. i put the max drive into my computer download the codes onto it and then stick it into my ps2 and use the action replay memory manager to transfer the files unto the memory card but when i boot it up i cannot see the new codes because it appears that it is loading from the disc and not the memory card. I've tried formating both the memory card and the max drive but nothing works. I've even called action replay support and they couldn't help me. So, can you? I cannot be the only one in the world with this promblem. thanks, in advance
