You should be able to watch the video up until it starts missing data. If you're missing the tail end, you can watch everything up until that. If it was something like a torrent, where pieces are missing all over the place, or a series of rars, and you're missing files here and there, you'll only be able to view significantly less, if at all.
Winrar will delete any unfinished files. A trick I use is to extract to the location, copy the target file, and quickly cancel the extraction, then the copying process. Copying the file will temporarily lock the file and prevent WinRAR from deleting it after canceling it. You'll be left with the partial file, which you can watch. I'm sure theres an option to extract a partial file, but I've never bothered to check.
Cool trick, check the extract with broken files option and extract to the location of your choice. You'll still get an error message but all the files will extract anyway. cheers
if you downloaded from a newsgroup you can use a program called QuickPar to fix you corrupt or imcomplete rar files
i dont think QuickPar will work if you downloaded from torrents
