No problem. remeber to only buy from the lsited sites though. You don't want to end up with fake disks now, do you! :-)
And yeah, it's fine to use up your Sony ones you bought. :-D

If those sony are +1x-8x or +1x-16x,then you'll be ok. It's still some very good media, but not taiyo yuden media. My scans are very close to any other ty or verbatim scan that I have done- mid 90's. I keep mine at 4x and 8x with no issues.
If going to verbatim =16x,don't burn them too slow. Keep them at least 8x.
If you have any skipping after that, I'd look at the drive that gives those issues. Make sure your DVD-RW drive plays it's own backups, and they should look near identical to the originals in quality. Any issues while viewing on a stand alone player-take note and watch that area on your pc-using the same DVD-RW drive that played it. Lots of other things can cause this as well:
Burn speed-too fast/too slow
Multi-tasking
Paper/sticker labels-major no no.
Backup target-4360 mbs-don't burn the outer edge of disc.
Burn engine
Burner quality-there are some crap drives out there.
Dirty laser lens-After ruling everything above and if only 1 stand alone player shows that issue.
HP a1118x-b/athlon 64-3300+/BenQ 1650 BCDC/LG 8163B/Modded Wii/Epson-R300 and Ty Watershields!!!

I burn at 4x on verbatim DVDR- 16x and have great backups if you burn the disc with all the extras that will add to the chance of skipping and Legos I know some people want a copy just like the disc but if just rip the main movie you will get better backups If you want the extras put them on a different disc (I bet you will not ever watch that crap)after you watch the movie.

rbrock- Good advice , I generally try to do a complete backup , Menu's extra's ect... Though I generally delete the superfluous audio streams !! ( Directors comment's , Spanish or French lamguage tracks ect!!!) I took spanish in high school and can Comprende' a tiny bit ! I don't speak it and I am not all that interested in watching a movie in it! same with french ! though I never took it in school . Not knocking the Francophones & spanish speakers out there in video land nor people of that descent ! Or those who want to watch or listen to a movie in french or spanish ! More Power to you all friends ! But removing the extra / non-essential audio makes your iso smaller & easier to fit on a dvd ! Though I see your point about the movie only way ! perhaps if I were watching on a Enormous Lcd or Plasma screen I would do it like you do ! But my burns are just fine on my 32 inch sony atleast for now ! Good info. Though rbrock - good luck, happy burning & Happy Thanksgiving to You Peace!!!

I bought a 50 pack of Sony DVD+R (made in Taiwan) and had about 15-20 coasters. Then saw where I should buy Sony (made in Japan). Looked for those at 7 different stores and finally found them at Sears. They tested out as Taiyo Yuden (shown below). If you do find Sony (made in Japan) locally and if there not on sale, make sure you get an add with them on sale somewhere else and get a price match. That's what I had to do. Good luck!
