was think about updating to Nero 7.5.7.0. so started dl says 7.3 hrs let it sit awhile really never moved off 1%. closed it out. anyone see this before? thanks

Yeah it seems lately sometimes Nero's servers are either running really sloooow or the bandwidth is being zapped by alot people trying to download.

I remember Nero 6 updates at times taking forever even with a high speed connection.

Try to download from here at aD or try majorgeeks.com

i went to software page here to dl 7.5.7.0. installed seems all ok so far. question is why did it say expire on 12/31/06 if its shareware? what happens then?

Are you using the demo?
If you have a 'paid' version of Nero just make sure the right serial is entered.

In SmartStart look in the bottom right hand corner for a icon w/ a somewhat looking flame in it. Click on it - it's the product center.
Then click on license on the left.
Check here if there is an expiration or wrong serial #.
If a wrong serial then add the correct one and remove the wrong one.

yes i remember it saying demo.
just checked it says demo. i did not see any other choices? where there.

Yeah the download is free - but only a trial. Shareware is $$$ - freeware is free. So 12/31/06 the demo runs out.
Give it a whirl til then - you can always go back to Nero 6.

Plus instore with rebates they offer at times you can get Nero pretty cheap.
